C4J - Confluence Custom Field for Jira

The C4J custom field for Jira allows you to present specific and relevant content from Confluence upon your Jira issue

While the C4J Macro for Confluence allows you to associate specific parts of your content with an issue in Jira, the C4J Custom Field allows you to display this content on the issue view screen.

Displaying the relevant content from the linked Confluence page in a custom field, helps you get benefits like:

  1. Improved visibility By displaying the relevant content in the work item, it becomes more visible to the team and can be easily accessed by anyone who needs it. This can help ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals.

  2. Enhanced collaboration Displaying the relevant content in the work item allows team members to collaborate more closely on designing and implementing a particular feature or issue. This can lead to better solutions and a higher quality product.

  3. Improved traceability By linking the relevant content to the work item, it becomes easier to trace the origin and context of an issue or feature. This can help with root cause analysis and ensure that any fixes are implemented in the right place.

  4. Increased efficiency Displaying the relevant content in the work item makes it easier for developers to access the information they need to complete their work. This can help them work more efficiently and avoid wasting time on unnecessary tasks or rework.

  5. Improved project tracking By displaying the relevant content in the work item, it becomes easier to track the status of a particular feature or issue and identify any roadblocks or dependencies. This can help the team stay on track and meet project deadlines.

In addition, having the Confluence content as Jira custom field allows you to

  • View the Confluence content in different contexts in Jira such as search view

  • Save time searching for relevant content in Confluence

  • No need to maintain active sessions in Confluence
